The organization of the twelve traditional CASE Conferences about information systems methods and tools is under way. It is the most important meeting of theoreticians and practitioners, sellers of tools and solutions in the theoretical and practical fields of designing information systems in Croatia. On the past the attendance was good. Surveys have shown that the Conference was useful. The Conference proceedings are sought after as a specialized edition and its articles are cited in different publications showing the level of the material published. The Conference like the previous ones include besides technical articles (from June 2nd to June 5th 2008) also:

- Organization of seminars (on Monday 2nd, Tuesday 3rd or Wednesday 4th of June 2008). Several parallel seminars related to design of information systems and CASE will be held. Parallel half-day seminars are planned to be organized by CASE tools vendors. The goal of the seminars is to introduce the participants to the CASE tools and design techniques. The fee for seminars is to be paid separately. The number of participants is limited to among 15 to 25 persons per group. 

- Organization of workshops for the most popular tools or CASE tools presents on our market like: Magic, Clarion or Oracle CASE. This way of presenting tools through workshops is more attractive than classic presentations are. Knowledge about CASE among the audience is growing. The participants are expected to come ready with questions and real-life problems to be placed to the workshop specialists. For all participants of the Conference workshops are free and the number to attend is limited to 50.

- Forum about one of CASE subjects.

CONFERENCE TOPICS

ITIL day (2nd of June):

Developers Day (3rd of June): Methodology of design of information systems (IS) - methods (theoretical concepts, trends, phases of project life, implementation and maintenance, object oriented approach, Re-engineering, BPR…New generation software (modern tools for building IS, RAD (Rapid application Developing tools), prototyping tools, application generators for WEB, new programming languages, XML, JAVA...), CASE - Open CASE, standards for exchange data between CASE systems, presentation of experience with CASE systems and their development, experiences in implementation of CASE system (presentation of information systems developed with CASE systems, maintenance with CASE systems).

Databases, artificial intelligence and Quality Day (4th of June): Databases (object oriented, knowledge or multimedia oriented). Artificial intelligence and expert systems. Data mining. Quality of the SW and IS. Total quality approach.

Internet and e-business Day (5th of June): features and design of systems for e-business (business to business), m-business, information and entertainment, Internet/Intranet/Extranet, security problems

VOLUME AND CONTENTS OF THE PAPER

All prospect authors with interest in one of the topics are invited to contact the organizing committee. When writing the article it is mandatory to choose one of the Conference topics. The paper has to be submitted by e-mail case20@case.hr in  Word format file from 5 to 15 pages long. Graphic material has to be included in to JPG, GIF or BMP format. Along with papers via e-mail, it has to be sending printed graphic material (not large then 120 x 160 mm). Conference proceedings will be printed in black and white, so authors are advised to give consideration to the contrast if using colored graphical presentation. Conference Proceedings will be prepared in WORD.

Important dates: for sending abstracts: April 18th 2008, for final papers: May 19th 2008.

Papers will be printed in Conference Proceedings that will get every participant at the beginning of the Conference. Time allowed for presentation of papers at the Conference will be maximum 20-30 minutes, depending on theme.

In papers it is allowed to mention commercial products (software tools) but it is to avoid their direct advertising. Every professional opinion and comparison of software tools is welcome.

In the Conference adjoining room's presentations of software and hardware solutions will be organised. Interested parties should contact organizer.
